Robert Benayoun's directorial debut follows young artist Simon who develops increasingly psychedelic hallucinations of the past, present and future after smoking a joint at a friend's party.
Mid-hallucination, Simon abstractly throws paint into his bathtub. Time skips forward, then back, and seconds later he rinses away his work. Once there, then washed away, Benayoun reminds us that as the painting has once existed within the time spaces the character occupies, it will exist both forever and for never more.
Later, out walking under the Eiffel tour with his girlfriend Angela, Simon theorizes that Paris doesn't exist; that it never existed. Rather, individuals exist, and our understanding of Paris is simply a product of our shared imagination rather than any inherent traits of the city itself. Reality is only the product of collective projection.
